What is Astrology?
Western Astrology dates back to the Sumerians around 4000 BCE, but it was the Babylonians around 1650 BCE that developed the craft for over 2000 years. Astrology is present across the ancient world including India, China and the Mayans, this is an esoteric language that has stood the test of time.
It is perhaps the middle ages where this study began to be associated with ‘fortune telling’ yet with this rise of technological innovation the craft got its mathematical and scientific edge alongside astronomy around the 16th century. I perceive Astrology to be an archetypal language, this is credited to the work of Carl Jung who in the the 19th Century used Astrology to distinguish psychological archetypes.
The celestial bodies are a macrocosm for the microcosm, being the human experience. Each Astrological signature on your birth chart is archetypal and reflected within a part of your psyche, your relationships and daily life.
